Increasing attention is being paid internationally and nationally to the social and economic determinants of population health status, and well-being.
The Health & Society ASRI is a national leader in research into the social, cultural and economic factors that promote health and those factors that impede access to health and other related service use.
The Health & Society group combines researchers from a range of disciplines, including population and public health, nursing and midwifery, education, law, geography, economics and injury prevention to achieve better knowledge of, and practical strategies for, social, structural and economic facilitators of health, and to promote an equitable increase in health and well-being through this improved understanding.
